The Italian driver is the first one to be confirmed with Prema Racing for their first season in the category.


Antonio Giovinazzi raced in FIA Formula 3 last year, finishing runner-up behind unstoppable Felix Rosenqvist, even though he led the first part of the championship. He also tasted DTM last year with Audi in Moscow in order to replace Timo Scheider after his incident at the Red Bull Ring with Wickens and Wehrlein.

The Italian driver previously won the 2012 Formula Pilota China and raced in various Formula 3 championships, especially in British F3 of which he finished runner-up in 2013.
