Freddie Slater, junior driver for Audi in Formula 1 and Formula 3 runner-up, has announced his move to Formula 2 with Invicta Racing for the 2027 season. Slater, who has excelled in the lower categories, is preparing to take on this new challenge following a standout performance with Trident during his time in Formula 3.
The young Brit began his program with Audi in 2026, participating as part of their new Driver Development Program. During his campaign in Formula 3, Slater achieved four consecutive podiums at the forefront of the standings, but relinquished the championship lead to Campos driver, Ugo Ugochukwu, at the end of the season.
With eight podiums and a victory in Hungary, Slater has been the top rookie of the season, demonstrating significant growth in both driving skills and personal maturity. ‘I am excited to make the jump to Formula 2 with Invicta Racing,’ the driver commented. ‘I have learned a lot in Formula 3 and I am ready for this new challenge. Camara, currently second in the 2026 standings, seeks to emulate his predecessors with a title in his first season.
