The FIA Formula E Championship has released details of the tweaked layout of Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez for 2019/20 Mexico ePrix.

Following a spectacularly exciting 2018/19 race at Mexico City, in which Audi’s Lucas Di Grassi won via a last-corner overtake against Mahindra Racing’s Pascal Wehrlein, Formula E has announced changes will be made to the Mexico circuit for 2019/20 race.

The modifications primarily take place in the former half of the track, where Turn 1 and 2 remains as it has been, until the third corner, in which the 24-car Formula E grid will turn left rather than right as in previous years.

From there, drivers will enter an all-new four-turn complex, which entails a right kink as the fourth turn, and two 90 degree right handers as turn five, before a long left-hand turn six into the seventh corner, at which point the track goes straight on where there was previously a chicane.

The stadium section remains the same as in years prior, and the new layout also cuts the chicane breaking up the Peraltada corner, favoring a more speedway-esque turn 15, which rounds out the full lap.

The revised Mexico circuit is now at a length of 2.606 kilometers, which contrasts the previous length of just over 2 km. The track also features two less corners than it used to, with 15 now compared to 17.

The ePrix is scheduled for February 15 as the 2019/20 season heads to its fourth round, with Mercedes’ Stoffel Vandoorne leading the drivers’ standings with 38 points and BMW Andretti heading the teams’ championship with 60.
