De Vries dominated race 2 in Monaco from the first corner. His teammate at Rapax Johnny Cecotto and Gustav Malja completed the podium.
De Vries had a great start and overtook Cecotto in the first corner. Malja, Ghiotto, Albon, Markelov, Matsushita, King, Rowland and Fuoco completed the top 10. Nato had to retire after Leclerc, who got a 10 second time penalty, hit him in one of his rear tyres.
With 10 laps to go, De Vries had a great advantage over Cecotto, who was holding back a few cars behind him. Markelov overtook Albon at Rascasse for P5. Leclerc‘s Prema was damaged and he had to retire from the race. Canamasas broke his front wing after hitting Rowland‘s rear at Rascasse.
De Vries controlled the race from beginning to end and won ahead of Cecotto, Malja, Ghiotto, Markelov, Albon, Matsushita and King.
