The FIA has shared the details about DRS zones, track limits, stewards names and more for this weekend’s F1 Saudi Arabian GP.
Much like how it was for last weekend, the FIA Race Directors’ note state about no changes made to the Jeddah circuit for this weekend’s F1 Saudi Arabian GP from the 2023 event. The three DRS zones too remains the same as last year, as is the track limits.
The detection point for the first zone is on the exit of Turn 17 for 2024 Saudi Arabian GP, with the activation being on the exit of Turn 19. The second zone’s detection point is on the entry to Turn 22, with activation being on the entry of Turn 25.
The final zone’s detection point is on the exit of Turn 27, with activation being 170m after Turn 27. In terms of the FIA stewards, the panel will be led by Nish Shetty who will have support from Matteo Perini, Vitantonio Liuzzi and Hassan Alabdali.
In an addition to the FIA Race Directors’ note, Niels Wittich added a new point of unsafe ERS situation where the mechanics will be scootered to the stranded car from race control. “If the status of the ERS changes to unsafe or unknown, the relevant team will be required to send mechanics to race control. They will then be driven to their car with a scooter,” it stated.
The Wednesday in F1 Saudi Arabian GP also saw Carlos Sainz being sidelined from media duties and skipping the day after falling ill as noted by Ferrari. He was due to face the media outside the press conference, but will likely make a return on Thursday.
