The FIA has shared details for F1 Qatar GP with regards to track limits, circuit changes, DRS zone, stewards and more.

The F1 circus is returning to Lusail International Circuit in 2023 after the Qatar GP wasn’t held in 2022 due to Football World Cup. The circuit has seen wholesale changes which is why the FIA has noted it to be a ‘new circuit’ under the changes section.

“The entire track has been resurfaced, and all kerbs, run-off areas, guardrails and fences have been replaced since the previous event. Given the extensive nature of the changes made, to all intents and purposes, it is considered to be a new circuit,” stated the FIA.

The track limits too stays the same with white lines denoting the tipping point by the FIA Race Director. In terms of the DRS zone, the lone detection zone is 40m before Turn 16 while the activation is at 130m after Turn 16.

As for the FIA stewards pannel, it will be led by Felix Holter who will be supported by Matteo Perini, Danny Sullivan and David Domingo. Much like the other flyway F1 races, there won’t be any filming for this weekend as well in Qatar.
