The FIA has revealed provisional calendar for the F2 and F3 championships, revealing the F1 rounds which will host them in 2021 season.

F2:

Having announced the new format where F1 rounds will no longer host F2 and F3 races together from 2021 onward, the provisional calendar saw a huge difference from the previous year as the immediate ladder focused on flyaway races for its right rounds.

The flyaway dominates the F2 calendar which starts in Bahrain on March 26-28, before taking a month’s break for Monaco on May 21-23. It will then move to Azerbaijan on June 4-6 with Britain coming in next on July 16-18.

The Italian round on September 10-12 will conclude its three European races with Russia next on October 8-10, followed by the brand new venue in Saudi Arabia on November 26-28, with the finale in Abu Dhabi on December 3-5.

F3:

On F3 side, unlike F2, it is more European centric with its seven rounds. It starts in Spain on May 7-9, with France coming in next on June 25-27, followed by Austria on July 2-4, Hungary on July 30 – August 1 and Belgium on August 27-29.

These are the venues where F3 have visited already. The two new locations will be Netherlands on September 3-5, while its lone flyaway will be in the USA on October 22-24. While 2020 ends there but they are expected to be back for Macau GP in November.

Provisional F3 calendar for 2021:

F2 and F3 CEO Bruno Michel said: “As announced last week, one of our costs control measures for 2021 is to limit the number of rounds which will automatically lessen the teams’ budget. But thanks to F1 and the FIA’s support, we will now have three races per event.

“The 2021 F2 provisional calendar is a mixture of European and overseas circuits, with venues that have always been very popular amongst the drivers and the fans alike. The addition of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia makes it all the more exciting.

“I’m quite interested to see the F3 cars run at Zandvoort and Austin. These are two exciting new venues for us. We will also go back to Le Castellet where we saw great racing in previous years. F3 may no longer be racing on the same weekends as F2, I am pleased to confirm that all F3 events will take place alongside Formula 1.”
