The FIA has dismissed the Right of Review filed by Aston Martin against penalty for Fernando Alonso from F1 Chinese GP sprint.

Aston Martin has been busy for the past couple of weekends after double FIA protests for separate incidents. The first one happened after Chinese GP qualifying where they protested the result due to the red flag incident and allowance of Carlos Sainz.

The FIA had cleared Sainz to continue despite the ‘Stop’ message against his name after he crashed out in Q2. Even though their protest was dismissed, the stewards did not about further clarification in the rule to specify the terms rather than keep it vague.

With the race done and dusted, Aston Martin filed in a Right of Review against the penalty awarded to Fernando Alonso for his collision with Ferrari’s Sainz in the sprint race. Not just the drivers but Mike Krack was displeased with the call especially on penalty points side.

Alonso was handed three points on his license, while Lance Stroll only got two for a much larger incident in the main race against Visa Cash App RB’s Daniel Ricciardo. While Aston Martin did not agree with that penalty either, but haven’t protested against it.

The Right of Review meet was scheduled on Friday of F1 Miami GP weekend, where the FIA stewards checked out new evidence from Aston Martin via video conferencing. Having gone through the review, they have dismissed the filing from the British outfit.

While they conceded that there was new evidence presented by Aston Martin in the case which wasn’t available at the time with the stewards. But despite the new evidence, they feel that the stewards had enough angles to review the incident.
