The FIA has shared its statement on FOM rejecting Andretti Cadillac’s F1 entry bid from 2025 and or 2026 season, amid disappointment.

After the FIA gave a green signal to Andretti Cadillac entry, all eyes were on the Formula One Management, who eventually rejected its entry bid on Wednesday. It stated that the team is not likely to add value to the championship as one of the reasons.

Also, the competitive factor and power unit situation played a role. While rejected the 2025 and or 2026 bid, the FOM did state that they can enter as a works team when General Motors comes in the F1 championship as power unit supplier from 2028 onward.

There was much disappointment all around from various sections, whether fans or racers or even team bosses. There is silence at the moment from Andretti and or Cadillac on the rejection, but Mario Andretti took to Twitter/X to show his disappointment.

“I’m devastated. I won’t say anything else because I can’t find any other words besides devastated,” he said. The FIA, however, are now engaging in dialogue to determine the next steps as per the statement put out from the governing body.

It is unclear as to what they can really do. “The FIA notes the announcement from Formula One Management in relation to the FIA Formula One World Championship teams’ Expressions of Interest process. We are engaging in dialogue to determine next steps,” it stated.
