The Hitech GP driver, Deagen Fairclough, has achieved his second victory of the season in the opening of the GB3 weekend at Silverstone, surpassing Martin Molnar from Rodin Motorsport in an exciting race.
Fairclough crossed the finish line with a 0.485-second advantage over Molnar, who fought intensely in the early laps. Rowan Campbell-Pilling completed the podium, thus achieving a good result for Xcel Motorsport.
In this race, Fairclough started from pole for the first time and quickly established a clear lead ahead of Molnar at Copse. Behind him, a battle ensued among the drivers of Xcel Motorsport, with Campbell-Pilling and Lucas Fluxa, as well as with Flynn Jackes from Elite Motorsport.
Jackes managed to slightly overtake at Vale during the first lap but lost positions, allowing his rivals to pass him at the start. The race resumed at the beginning of the fourth lap, with Fairclough maintaining his lead until Molnar applied pressure in the Village section. Molnar got a better exit on the Wellington straight and took the lead before reaching Brooklands.
Fairclough did not give up and regained the advantage immediately, forcing Molnar to defend at Stowe before passing him again at Vale. In the following moments, Molnar briefly lost second position to Campbell-Pilling but quickly regained second place at Brooklands.
During the second half of the race, Campbell-Pilling could not keep up with the pace of the top two, while Molnar tried to follow Fairclough but found no opportunities to overtake.
Fluxa lost positions during the early laps and his race became complicated when he tried to recover ground. He managed to climb back to fifth position ahead of Rehm, but in a battle with him, he ended up spinning and dropping to the back of the grid.
Rehm avoided damage and kept Jackes at bay to finish fourth, while his teammate, Abbi Pulling, finished in sixth after losing ground at the start.
The championship leader, Nikita Bedrin, made a good recovery, finishing eighth behind Leon Wilson from Arden, while Jacob Micalleff from Hitech finished ninth, just ahead of Patricio Gonzalez.
