Prema’s Logan Sargeant ended the three-day Valencia FIA Formula 3 (F3) Championship test on top ahead of ART Grand Prix’s Christian Lundgaard.

The third and final day of F3 post-season test at Valencia saw Prema’s Sargent put in the fastest lap of 1m33.705s during the morning session in the wet conditions, to end up as the quickest overall eventually. He was the only one to break the 1m34s barrier.

It remained wet during the whole day as the rain only intensified by the end. Sargeant did well in the end to topple Day 1 and 2’s pace-setter Lundgaard, who ended up second with a time of 1m34.130s during the morning session.

The Renault junior’s day, however, was cut short when his ART car stopped on track at Turn 14 during the afternoon session. HWA Racelab’s Jack Hughes was third fastest with a time of 1m34.322s, with Renault junior and Hitech GP’s Max Fewtrell in fourth.

Carlin’s Devlin DeFrancesco was fifth, while Campos Racing’s Enaam Ahmed ended up sixth. He was replaced by ex-F1 racer Roberto Merhi towards the end of the day. Red Bull junior and Hitech GP’s Dennis Hauger finished seventh fastest.

The Norwegian driver brought out the last red flag of the day, when his car stopped on the track at Turn 8. He led Carlin’s Dan Ticktum with Prema’s Frederik Vesti ninth as the British racer’s session ended shortly after his fastest lap as he went off track at Turn 14.

The Top 10 was rounded by MP Motorsport’s Bent Viscaal as teammate Richard Verschoor just missed out on it. The other notable drivers to finish outside the Top 10 was led by Prema’s Enzo Fittipaldi in 12th as Hitech GP’s Jack Doohan was 13th.

HWA Racebab’s Sophia Floersch ended up 20th with Carlin’s Billy Monger in 22nd, Sauber Junior Team by Charouz’s David Schumacher 25th and Campos’ David Vidales 26th. It was a busy time for marshals on track with a total of 10 red flags during the day.

While the likes of Ferdinand Habsburg, Ticktum, Vidales, Igor Fraga, Clement Novalak, Monger and Lirim Zendeli went off track into the gravel to bring out the red flag, Schumacher, Lundgaard, Andreas Estner and Hauger stopped on the track.
