F1 has announced a June launch for its video game by Codemasters with new features which includes a chance for players to use the 2019-spec car.

For years, Codemasters has released the game around the months of August and September but for 2019, they have brought forward the launch by two months as it will be out for public on June 28 during the Austrian GP weekend.

Codemasters released a teaser video of the 2019 game with a brand new feature added, which they have incorporated with the help of Ross Brawn and Pat Symonds, where the players can now race with the current-spec car as opposed to the year before.

The players will have an access to the 2019 regulation car specifically designed for the game – in the Multiplayer mode – with an added bonus where a range of livery designs is present for the gamers to use and personalise their cars.

“We are absolutely delighted to be able to release F1 2019 earlier in the F1 Season, so that the game can be played and enjoyed at the same time that the real-world championship picture is starting to form,” said Paul Jeal, Franchise Director at Codemasters.

“Our close relationship with F1 has played a major part in achieving this key objective for the franchise. That in addition to our near two-year development cycle, has allowed us to develop some exciting new features and other firsts for the franchise that we can’t wait to share with our community in the coming months.”

Codemasters’ game director, Lee Mather added: “The exciting collaboration with Ross Brawn and Pat Symonds has created new levels of player personalisation in F1 2019 through the inclusion of the new regulation car.

“With the continued growth of the F1 series, it’s great to give players more control and new levels of car and driver customisation and we can’t wait to talk more about this alongside the new multiplayer features in the coming months.”

As per Codemasters, the 2019 game has been in the making for nearly two years which makes its the most ‘ambitious’ release for the company in its history. The game will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One (Xbox One X) and Windows PC (DVD and via Steam).
