The brand new Eurocup-3 series revealed its car and embarked on its first official track action at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia on April 18th as part of a two-day test

With a confirmed calendar of 8 rounds to be held in Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Italy & The Netherlands, the Eurocup-3 has now taken a new step forward hitting the track for the first time.

The Tatuus F3-T318 chassis already mounted the tailor-made F1 look-like Aerokit and the 270hp, four-cylinder turbocharged Alfa Romeo 1750cc engine tuned-up by Autotecnica with an extra 25HP boost reserved for the push-to-pass system was welcomed by teams and drivers with open arms.

Both days were split into 2 test sessions with Campos Racing’s Esteban Masson leading the way on Tuesday and Spanish gun Javier Sagrera taking best time overall for Palou Motorsport on Wednesday morning.

The 2021 F4 French Champion set the benchmark pace from Eurocup-3’s first day of testing with a 1m28.302s and Sagrera beat that by 0.524s (1m27.778s) in final
day.

MP Motorsport’s Bruno del Pino was the only other driver to lap sub-1m28s, while four teams were represented in the top four as Drivex Teams’s Nick Gilkes was third fastest and Cenyu Han, driving for GRS Team, fourth. Masson, who set the pace in the afternoon with a 1m28.535s lap, was fifth in the day’s combined timesheet while José Garfías, Sebastian Ogaard, Francesco Braschi, Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak and William Karlsson completed the top-10.

Suleiman Zanfari was the driver with the most laps in testing, doing 174 in total over both days in his debut as Campos Racing soldier.

The opening round of the season will take place at Spa-Francorchamps on May 5-7.
