Cedric Fuchs and Enrico Förderer achieved a double win at the Monza circuit, taking advantage of a penalty given to the on-track winners, Robert Consani and Benjamin Lariche, during the second race of the weekend.
The race, marked by two safety car appearances, was disrupted by an incident where Consani and Lariche received a 10-second penalty for exceeding speed during their pit stop. Despite trying to maintain the lead, Lariche could not prevent Förderer from finishing eight seconds behind him.
On this occasion, Cameron McLeod and Marco Signoretti successfully defended the colors of Mustang, finishing in third position after an intense battle among several cars.
Additionally, Sacha Bottemanne and Viny Beltramelli recovered from their retirement in the first race, triumphing in the Pro-Am category, also overcoming a penalty for speeding during their pit stop.
The race started with Consani on pole, who initially led, but incidents meant that pit stop strategies were key. The impact between the W&S Porsche and the Borusan BMW triggered the first appearance of the Safety Car, affecting the race for the competing drivers.
Consani took an important lead but was penalized for his speed in the pit area, allowing Fuchs and Förderer to quickly position themselves at the top of the grid after an excellent maneuver by Fernández.
With the fastest time on track, Förderer managed to close the gap with Lariche, leaving him just one second away from victory. In the end, McLeod and Signoretti overtook the second Mercedes-AMG unit to claim third place.
The next event of the GT4 European Series will take place at the 24 Hours of Spa, a race that promises excitement and a high level of competition among the best GT drivers in the world, during the weekend of June 25 to 27.
