Dutch racer Dilano van’t Hoff has lost his life in a multi-car incident during Formula Regional European Championship race at Spa-Francorchamps.

The incident took place at the start of Race 2 in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine weekend at Spa-Francorchamps where MP Motorsport’s van’t Hoff was collected by few cars at the exit of Radillon corner onto the Kemmel Straight.

The conditions were wet with lots of spray for the drivers to tackle. There were already few cars involved in incidents when van’t Hoff was hit sideways. RPM’s Adam Fitzgerald was unsighted when he crashed into the 18-year-old Dutch racer.

Van’t Hoff only started his single-seater career in 2021 where he finished second in the F4 UAE Championship and took the title in Spanish F4 series. He moved up to Formula Regional European Championship with MP Motorsport in 2022.

After a difficult rookie season, van’t Hoff continued for another year in 2023. The Spa-Francorchamps circuit sees another death of a young driver after Anthoine Hubert sadly lost his life during a F2 race in 2019, where Juan Manuel Correa was hugely injured.
