In ACCELERATION, each team represents a nation.

Below is the line-up of the teams who have already confirmed their entry to the series. Most of them have entered a minimum of 2 cars. Drivers’ signing decisions are up to the individual teams, so the line-up should be revealed closer to the season’s start.

Each car is mechanically identical, built with technical restrictions to limit performance and reduce costs. This provides a level in which the driver’s skills and team effort become the main factors to achieve results.

Belgium is one of the first countries to confirm their participation. Azerti, the team run by Wim Coekelbergs, has previously won titles in both the Megane Trophy and the Superleague Formula with RSC Anderlecht.

Performance Racing from Sweden is another of the 9 teams already committed to the 2014 series. Performance Racing was founded in 1999 and has mainly been active in Formula 3, including in England and Germany. In addition, Performance Racing was involved in A1GP between 2006 and 2009, where Bobby Issazadhe successfully entered cars from different nations.

GU-Racing has also entered the Series. GU-Racing is a German racing team, owned by Günther Unterreitmeier. The team was founded in 2003 and has successfully participated in several series, including the German Formula 3 Championship, the Superleague Formula and A1GP.

China is also represented with Team China Racing from Steven Lu. Team China Racing started in 2004 in Beijing as one of the A1GP teams. It has competed in several different international racing series including A1GP, Superleague Formula and FIA GT1, and has supported many Chinese drivers.

Moma Motorsport, newly created by Carlos Mollá and Dani Clos, will race under theSpanish flag. The businessman and the professional driver (GP2, Formula 1 with HRT, …) will be running the team with very high hopes of this competitive category.

Piercarlo Ghinzani has been a reference in Italian motorsport for 40 years, as an F1 driver during the eighties and then as a successful Team Manager. He is now putting his expertise into ACCELERATION to run one of the teams.

Rocco Peduzzi and E. Catella’s RC Motorsport, with 3 Italian Formula 3 titles in the 90’s, are taking up the challenge and will represent Venezuela.

Japan is another just confirmed overseas country. Taki Inoue, former Formula 1 driver in the 90’s, will lead the team under the banner of Euronova Japan.

Team Holland will of course also be represented and run by Meindert van Buuren SR.

The second official tests for the ACCELERATION 2014 series will take place in Valencia (Spain) at the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 March 2014. Michelin and other partners have confirmed their attendance to support this event for both cars and bikes.
