Juan Manuel Correa will stay in FIA F2 Championship for the 2024 season, switching to DAMS to complete its line-up.

DAMS is delighted to announce the signing of American-Ecuadorian Juan Manuel Correa for the 2024 FIA Formula 2 Championship, completing the team’s line-up alongside Jak Crawford.

The two-time F2 podium sitter began his racing career in Italian Formula 4 in 2016, where he claimed three victories. Two seasons in GP3 followed, with a solid 2018 campaign earning him a place in Formula 2 for 2019, where he finished on the podium twice.

Following an incredible recovery from a serious incident that left him with life-threatening injuries, he returned to the now-renamed FIA Formula 3 Championship for 2021 and 2022, where he took to the podium for the first time since his racing comeback. Alongside his 2022 F3 campaign, Correa claimed a race win in the European Le Mans Series, and made his F2 comeback in Abu Dhabi.

His full-time re-entry to the series came in 2023, scoring several points finishes while also competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship, including at the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. Correa has already enjoyed a strong post-season test with the team, where he set the fourth fastest lap in the morning session on Day 1. He will be back on track with the Le Mans-based squad for Pre-Season Testing at Bahrain International Circuit on 11-13 February, ahead of the opening round of the 2024 campaign at the same venue on 29 February – 2 March.

Juan Manuel Correa: “I’m delighted to be a part of DAMS for the 2024 season. I feel that it is the best place for me to continue to rebuild my career and push towards my long-term objectives. I’m eager to begin working with the team and to show what I can do on track.”

Charles Pic, Team Owner: “We are excited to see Juan Manuel join us for 2024, he has potential and is a great team player. We’ve already seen encouraging signs that he’s forming a strong working relationship with Jak and the rest of the crew. He has shown his resilient mentality with his desire to return to racing after a very difficult period out of the sport. His ability to provide useful feedback to our engineers and his willingness to absorb new information leaves us confident that we can achieve strong results together in the coming year.”
