Clint Bowyer and Jamie McMurray, two prominent drivers, have announced their surprising return to the NASCAR tracks. Both legends will participate in two races of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with the No. 25 vehicle from Kaulig Racing.
Bowyer, 46, will compete in the Dover race on May 15, while McMurray, 49, will come into play at the first urban race in San Diego on June 19.
Both stars will drive the Ram 1500 as part of the team’s free-agent program. Bowyer expressed excitement about his return: “I am excited to be back behind the wheel of a truck, especially with the power of Ram behind me.” He added that he hopes to perform well in Dover, a very demanding circuit.
For his part, McMurray also shared his excitement, highlighting the historical experience of racing in a former warship in San Diego: “Urban racing requires precision and adaptability, and I am looking forward to making history with Kaulig and Ram.”
Additionally, the No. 25 of Kaulig Racing has had a diverse lineup of drivers during its season start. Notable names include Tony Stewart, Colin Braun, and Ty Dillon, among others, who have passed through the vehicle.
Bowyer has an impressive record of 541 races in the Cup Series with 10 wins; however, he has only participated in 15 truck races, achieving three victories. McMurray, on the other hand, has 7 wins in the Cup Series and one in NASCAR’s third division.
