The Circuit of the Americas (COTA), home of the United States Grand Prix of Formula 1, presents significant updates for 2026. This year, the famous turn 1 has been transformed with the construction of a large multi-story clubhouse, linked to the paddock area via a zip gadget that crosses the track. This new infrastructure not only serves as an extension of the Formula 1 Paddock Club during GP weekend, but starting January 2, it will be used as a private club named ‘The Circuit’.

Parris Mullins, Vice President of Motorsport at COTA, highlights that, unlike a traditional club, membership involves an annual fee to maintain the facilities, as well as a one-time initiation fee that provides lifetime membership. Aiming to limit the number of members to 300, of which 250 will be from North America, COTA seeks to create a selected community for motorsport enthusiasts.

In addition to the new infrastructure, COTA is also planning a second circuit located to the north of the current track. This decision is a response to the need to maintain access for motorsport lovers, who had previously used the track for driving days and activities from local organizations. Mullins explains that the intention is to create a layout suitable for cars and motorcycles that allows the local community to continue enjoying motorsport at a more accessible price.

While details of the new circuit are scarce, a design has already been defined that complies with FIA category 3 standards, perfect for entry-level motorsport and smaller competition vehicles. The aim is to create a circuit with unique features that differentiate it from what the main Formula 1 circuit offers, promoting excitement and fun for drivers.

COTA, which expects to attract more than 440,000 spectators during the Formula 1 weekend, maintains its vision of becoming a major amusement park dedicated to entertainment throughout the year. Among the attractions are roller coasters in the new amusement park ‘COTALAND’, as well as concerts and events beyond what motorsport competition offers, all in line with the evolution of the sport and its demographics.
