Charles Leclerc has shared his analysis of the current advancement of the Formula 1 team Ferrari, highlighting that the Maranello outfit has made «good progress with the car».
Currently, the Monegasque driver is in third place in the drivers’ standings, with 49 points, behind the championship leader, Kimi Antonelli, and his teammate at Mercedes, George Russell.
After a regulatory change that has impacted performance, Ferrari has shown a clear improvement compared to the previous season. After finishing fourth in the constructors’ championship in 2025, they now occupy second place after the first three races of 2026.
«I believe we’ve made significant progress with the car,» Leclerc commented during his interview on the podcast BMST. «I enjoy driving it, the engineers are doing a great job with the improvements, and I’m pleased with the overall performance.»
Despite the optimism, Leclerc warned that the Formula 1 season is long and circumstances can change quickly. «The championship is extensive, strategies and fortunes can vary. It’s essential to focus on what can be controlled, which is performance and consistency,» he added.
For Leclerc, the key to his success is working together with his engineer: «I feel like we’re on the same page; we understand each other very well, and that is essential,» he pointed out.
Regarding the potential to fight for the championship, he said: «Yes, I believe we can. If we have the pace and the car, and we execute well, we can fight for the victory.» Leclerc is optimistic about the team’s capabilities and trusts that they can achieve notable results if they maintain their teamwork.
