Marco Bezzecchi achieved an unexpected podium in the sprint race of the British Grand Prix, despite facing an extremely exhausting day. The Aprilia Racing rider confessed that he felt “destroyed” after an intense day.
Bezzecchi showed great determination after leading the Friday practice session, in his return from injuries sustained at Sachsenring. During qualifying, he broke the circuit record with a time of 1:56.183, securing a position on the second row of the grid.
The sprint race required him to complete 10 consecutive laps, double what he had achieved in practice sessions, a difficult task given his recent recovery. Despite a slow start, Bezzecchi managed to overtake Marc Márquez and then Fabio di Giannantonio, consolidating himself in third position, marking his first podium in sprint since June in Hungary.
