Charles Leclerc remains unbeaten in qualifying as he scored his 6th pole position at Silverstone ahead of Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato.
Sean Gelael (Arden) faced issues right at the beginning of the session with smoke coming out of his car. In his first flying lap, Charles Leclerc (Prema) improved his fastest time of free-practice.
Following the first stint, Leclerc was on provisional pole in 1:39.158, almost three tenths faster than Norman Nato (Arden) and Nicholas Latifi (DAMS). The session went from bad to worse for Gelael who was under investigation for impeding Antonio Fuoco (Prema) in his flying lap.
All the drivers clearly improved their times in the second stint but no matter the improvements by Oliver Rowland (DAMS) and Nato, Leclerc smashed the fastest lap with more than 4 tenths of advantage.
Charles Leclerc matched the record of consecutive poles set by Stoffel Vandoorne between 2014 and 2015. He was ahead of Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato in the top 3. King, Markelov, Latifi, Canamasas, Matsushita, Sette Câmata and Albon completed the top 10.
