Muñoz joins the series after finishing second in French F4 with a single podium finish in Monza. Before that, all of his karting career was developed in the United States.

After doing the post season tests in 2017 with R-ace GP, the Colombian driver decided to change his destination and join AVF. With that, he moves to a much more competitive series on which will share the team with the already confirmed drivers Xavier Lloveras and Axel Matus.

“After completing my last F4 season, I think that moving to Formula Renault is the natural step on a driver’s career. It will be a difficult year, but we will work hard with the team to be always on top. The next event is a pre-season test in a couple of weeks, so we will see how it goes and the we will set a goal for the entire season.” Said Muñoz to the online media site Formula Scout.

On the other hand, team owner Adrián Vallés was optimistic about Muñoz joining his team: “With Christian joining the team, our roster is growing to three full-time drivers for the 2018 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 season, after Alex and Xavier joined the team in the last few months. We have a lot of work ahead, since we are preparing for pre-season testing and then for another challenging season. We expect to confirm the great potential we have shown during the last few seasons.” He concluded.

Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 is scheduled to begin the weekend between the 13th and 15th of April at the Paul Ricard Circuit in France.
