Double R Racing announced the signing of Saudi Arabia’s Reema Juffali for her maiden British Formula 4 (F4) campaign in 2019.
Having started competitive racing only in October 2018, Juffali has signed up with British outfit Double R Racing for her first year in European racing in the British F4 championship alongside Louis Foster and Sebastian Alvarez.
The move comes as a significant step in her career, especially as a single-seater racer. Following the lifting of the ban on women driving road cars in Saudi Arabia, Juffali took the step towards motor racing, competing in the Middle Eastern TRD 86 Cup.
She has a race win and podiums under her belt in the category. After some success in TRD 86 Cup, she stepped into a single-seater car for the first time in the winter-based MRF Challenge series’ 2018/19 season’s final round in Chennai.
From there, she has now stepped in to race full-time in single-seater championship. “I’m happy to be joining Double R Racing, a championship winning team with such a great history, and to be competing in British F4 where many great drivers have started.
“It’s going to be a tough year in such a competitive championship, but I’m ready for the challenge,” said Juffali. Team principal Anthony Hieatt oversaw Juffali in MRF Challenge series, where Double R provides the series with mechanics and engineers.
He said: “We’re really looking forward to working with Reema in British F4 this year and delighted she’s joined Double R for her first full season of racing at any level. I know there’s a huge amount for her to learn – the car to the style of racing and all of the British tracks which are very unique.
“But Reema has shown a great deal of promise already. It’s fantastic to be working with someone who is breaking down barriers as Reema is, and has been over the past few months, since she decided to start racing. The aim at this stage is to try and make continued progress every weekend, and I’m sure she will.”
