Jorge Lorenzo, best time and record of Sepang

The Ducati rider dominated the third day of test in Sepang with a time that improved Marc Márquez’s record in 2015.

Jorge Lorenzo has been the great protagonist of the third day of winter tests that are being held in Sepang. The Spanish driver set the best time of the session with a 1: 58: 830 that sprays all the records of this circuit.

It has lowered the best time of the winter tests of last season that had Maverick Viñales with a 1: 59: 468. It has improved in more than half a second the pole position by Dani Pedrosa in 2015 and has finally been faster than the circuit record held by Marc Márquez (1: 58.867)

It is nothing more than a confirmation of the improvement of the Ducati in the aspect of braking and the stability of the bike. Lorenzo made a full day with a fall without further consequences.

The Honda improved considerably the performances of day 2. Dani Pedrosa, who set the fastest time on the first test day, was second to just under two tenths of his compatriot. Crutchlow continues with his great level marking the third fastest time.

The world champion of last season, Marc Márquez, could not get past seventh place, repeating the same position he got yesterday. For his part in Yamaha, both Rossi and Maverick seem to have been doing race simulation. The two pilots of the Japanese team have run 54 and 71 laps respectively. In fact, Viñales could only be eighteenth, with a much worse time than yesterday allowed him to be the fastest (2: 00.547).

In the section of falls, apart from the aforementioned Jorge Lorenzo, other drivers as Andrea Dovizioso, Zarco, Yonny Hernández and Tito Rabat also have fallen.
