New five year contract sees the German GP remain at the classic venue.
The Sachsenring has regularly hosted the German GP since 1998 and that is set to continue, as the venue has been announced as the home of the event for a further five years. The deal, agreed during the recent 2016 edition of the event, ensures the hundreds of thousands of fans who travel to the circuit for the German GP will be able to keep enjoying one of the European nation’s biggest sporting events.
“The Sachsenring is certainly the most ideal venue for a German motorcycle Grand Prix,” explained ADAC Sport President Hermann Tomczyk. “I am therefore very pleased that it will now be hosting a world championship race for the next years. The event has been a huge success ever since 1998..”

The 20th Anniversary of the event in 2017 will prove a perfect welcome back for the paddock, as the first of the next 5 years of the contract get underway and Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) pushes for his eighth win in a row at the German track.
