Pierre Gasly had the opportunity to drive the new fully electric A110 Future prototype from Alpine during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. After scoring a double point with the team in the recent British Grand Prix, the French driver took the prototype up the famous hill with the Duke of Richmond as a passenger.

Gasly expressed his excitement before the test, stating: ‘I am so happy to be here. I came here a few years ago and for me it is the most beautiful motorsport event in the world. It is wonderful to be here with Alpine.’ The driver also commented that it would be his first time testing an electric sports car.

About the prototype, the Frenchman noted: ‘It is a special A110, the first electric sports car. It is still a prototype, and I was told to take care of it, but I am not a very good car caretaker, I prefer to test them to the limit. I will do my best.’

Alpine has prioritized the weight distribution of the vehicle to maintain the characteristic maneuverability of its combustion engine A110 model. The electric prototype incorporates 800-volt technology, with batteries designed to reduce both weight and charging times.

For his experience at Goodwood, Gasly was accompanied by the Duke of Richmond, who, upon seeing the onboard footage, commented that they navigated the first corner without incidents, although he joked about the absence of a helmet: ‘I thought it was a good idea to hold on tight since I wasn’t wearing a helmet.’
