The driver parade of the 2026 Austrian Grand Prix has innovated its format, moving away from the traditional flatbed truck to present a fleet of customized KTM X-Bows adorned with the decorations of each Formula 1 team. This new proposal offers a fresh and dynamic image before the race at the Red Bull Ring.
During the parade, the 22 drivers were transported along the 4.318 km circuit in Styria aboard these vehicles manufactured in Austria. The KTM X-Bow is a lightweight sports car, designed with a carbon fiber monocoque, which stands out for its powerful engine featuring a turbo from Audi located at the rear.
For this edition, each X-Bow was decorated to match the livery of the driver’s team traveling in it. Among the features of this model, the X-Bows can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, thanks to their 330 horsepower and a weight of only 790 kg, giving them a truly impressive power-to-weight ratio.
The new approach to the parade has generated mixed reactions among fans. Some have expressed a desire for the drivers to be able to race in these machines, recalling past events like the parade with LEGO cars during the 2025 Miami GP, which became very popular among the public.
As for the race, Mercedes driver George Russell will start the competition from pole position, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc alongside him on the starting grid. Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli will close the second row, with their respective battles to remain in contention for the world championship.
