Recently, Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar, drivers for Red Bull Racing, have transferred their Formula 1 skills to the NASCAR universe in a sim racing challenge in Miami, alongside athlete Connor Zilisch.

The challenge involved completing the Miami International Autodrome circuit with a NASCAR vehicle virtually and recording the best time. Zilisch, who competes in the NASCAR Cup with number 88 for Trackhouse Racing, was the first to take control of the simulator.

The American experienced the difficulties of the vehicle, losing control and suffering a 360-degree spin. In the end, he achieved a time of 2m01.87s, which he set as the initial benchmark.

Then it was Hadjar’s turn, who noted that driving a NASCAR is more complicated than it seemed. “I’m hitting the walls, it’s very difficult,” he said, sharing his frustration with Verstappen.

In his turn, Verstappen chose to drive barefoot, commenting that he preferred not to wear shoes. Despite hitting the wall several times, the Dutch driver showed a quick adaptation to the simulator, finishing with a time of 2m01.11s, thus surpassing Zilisch.

With these results, Verstappen claimed victory in this curious virtual competition, while Hadjar was unable to register a time due to his difficulties with the vehicle. This challenge has shown the universality of driving skills across different areas of motorsport.
