The French team will reveal its new project on February 20, a few days before the start of the preseason tests.
With more than two months of winter break since the final 2017 race in Abu Dhabi at the end of November, the teams begin to announce the dates of presentation of the cars for the next season. It was Renault’s turn to announce when it will be.
It is going to be on February 20 and they will do it through their internet platform. Renault continues with its plans to have a winning car for the 2020 season and with their next car for this season they want to make another leap in quality.
Renault was in the points on a big number of races during the 2017 campaign, partly because of a great performance from Nico Hülkenberg. Decisions in order to reach the success were confirmed when at the end of last season they made the decision to relieve Jolyon Palmer from his seat to sign Carlos Sainz. They join in their team a couple of great quality drivers, withe future, to assault, why not, the highest positions in the classification. The Spanish rider will take part in his first full season dressed as a Renault driver, in what is his first great challenge of reaping good results consistently.
Cyril Abiteboul confirmed they want to improve with his declarations as he said that the goal for 2018 season is to get a perfect team and finally attack the leading teams from 2019 onwards. Renault will present its car six days before the kickoff of the winter tests that begin on February 26, at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit until the first of March. The French will be among the first teams to reveal their car, waiting for the official confirmation of Red Bull and Haas, the only teams without a filing date.
