In a plan to improve Latin and American audiences, the top directors of F1 plan to delay one hour the weekend timetable.

After a year of study and searching for decisions that, above all, wants to connect with the fan of this sport, Liberty Media wants to go further and touch the schedule of the different test that are held throughout a race weekend.

The main change would come on race day, where the green light would be at 15:10 pm. The main reason is the announcements in the United States. There, the advertising break must be made before the program starts, and, thus, they would gain that margin to be able to place them in that period of time.

The other sessions would be delayed an hour, but mantaining the two and a half hours between the free pratice session 1 and the free pratice session 2. It is not clear if this decision will be carried out next season, but the regulation published in 2018 invites us to think that it will finally be like this. In this edition of the F1 sports regulations, articles 32 and 33 do not specify the exact schedule in which the weekend sessions should begin.

The changes would only affect the races that are currently disputed during a daytime. Singapore, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi do not plan to make any movement in their schedules. On the other hand, it is considered moving the schedule of the Grand Prix of France, which takes place on June 24 in the middle of the World Cup in Russia. This race is in the same hour as the England-Panama, and Liberty Media does not want that the football match mean a fall of the audiences.

From the organization of the Grand Prix of France, a possible change of schedule is seen with good eyes.
