Mercedes young driver Pascal Wehrlein, DTM champion this year, seems to be about to lose the race for a Manor seat in 2016. Apparently, Mercedes is no willing to pay the amount the British team is asking for.

According to Toto Wolff, Mercedes is willing to give 4 million for the seat, but that’s nothing next to the 10 million the Indonesian government offers in order to buy the seat for Rio Haryanto. Wolff blames this type of business as one of the causes for the destruction of Formula 1.

Moreover, this situation is blocking the driver market beyond Formula 1, as Esteban Ocon would take over Wehrlein‘s seat at the DTM if the deal with Manor was to happen.
