The German has shattered the track record, surpassing by almost 1 second. Miguel Molina finished second after a final session, Tambay, who has also done a great workout finishing 3rd.

For much of the Mortara training has been followed leading Tambay and Ekström, with the other riders doing discrete time. Everything is animated from the last half-hour session, when Wittmann, Molina, Müller and the top finishers have started a struggle to make the best time. The first barrier down 1 : 33 has been Müller but later overtook him Molina , has also dropped Tambay time but eventually Wittmann Müller scored a stratospheric time of 1:32.654 , nine-tenths faster than the record previous marked by Paul di Resta in 2008.

Looks like Audi and BMW start on the right foot this season and Mercedes should improve, as it has not achieved any of its pilots siuar in the top10.
