After the summer break, the DTM Championship goes back to action at the Moscow circuit, where Marco Wittmann has led free practice today with Vietoris and Juncadella behind him.
With Esteban Ocon leaving DTM to join Pascal Wehrlein at Manor in F1, Felix Rosenqvist has taken his place at the team. The Swede is the current Formula 3 champion and was already Mercedes’ third driver while competing at the Indy Lights.
Wittmann led ahead of Juncadella halfway through the session. With 5 minutes to go, Vietoris got between them in the timesheets. The BMW driver would remain 1st until the end ahead of the Mercedes. The top 10 was completed by Auer, Farfus, Blomqvist, Mortara, Ekström, Glock and Götz.
