Will Palmer, 2015 BRDC F4 champion, joins the Formula Renault 2.0 championship with ART Junior Team.

Winner of the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award, Jolyon Palmer’s brother will take part of both 2016 NEC and Eurocup championships in the French team. He already raced in Formula Renault 2.0 last year at Silverstone, scoring two top 10 out of three races.

Young British driver says:

I’m really looking forward to racing in Europe next year for the first time, especially in a series as competitive as Formula Renault Eurocup, which has produced many great drivers in the past.”

The 18 year-old driver had been said running in GP3 or in European Formula 3 in 2016, but he finally chose the Formula Renault 2.0 championship.

ART Junior team boss, Thibaut de Merindol, states:

“We are delighted to enter Will as one of our drivers in both Eurocup and NEC Formula Renault 2.0.

“Already convinced by Will’s domination of the BRDC F4 2015 campaign, we were also impressed by the efficiency of his race craft and by the development of his speed during his very first FR2.0 race meeting when he joined our team in Silverstone.”

British rookie will be paired with Belgian Max Defourny, one of the main challengers for the NEC and Eurocup titles.
