The organisers of Vietnam GP have updated F1 fans regarding the situation with their tickets after the inaugural grand prix was postponed due to COVID-19.
Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, F1 and the FIA were forced to postpone Vietnam GP as the new date is yet not certain. The organisers, though, state that it will take at least one or two months to exactly know when they can stage the grand prix.
At this juncture, the calendar is quite rigid for Vietnam to be slotted in. Taking distance into consideration, the Vietnam GP can only be fitted in around the races in Singapore, Russia and Japan, as the whole circus will be that region for those F1 races.
It remains to be seen as to how they can get back in. The European races seems easier to be slotted back as F1 has freed up the month of August, with the shutdown brought forward and extended from 14 to 21 days in March/April.
While regretting the decision to defer, Vietnam GP offered update on the ticket situation to the F1 fans, wherein they explained three important points. It goes:
• To all ticket holders: Your purchase remains FULLY VALID ALONG WITH THEIR AVAILABLE BENEFITS and will be automatically updated to the new 2020 race schedule when announced – we hope to have a new date within 1 to 2 months based on the official reschedule date announced by the FIA and F1.
• To customers who have already received their tickets: When the new race date is confirmed, we will issue you New Tickets which will be delivered free-of-charge. The previous tickets sent to you will no longer be valid and you will need to use these new tickets issued instead. E-tickets will be issued & valid from 2 to 3 weeks prior to the new race date.
• In case you do not wish to receive new tickets: it is important to us that all our customers are satisfied and supported during this difficult time.
