After having tested with Koiranen GP in Abu Dhabi rookie testdays, the seventeen year old Uruguayan Santiago Urrutia will join the Finnish team’s ranks along with Jimmy Eriksson.
After a season in European F3, Santiago Urrutia decided to jump to a GP3 car and drove the car for the first time after the last event of the 2013 season. He managed to improve during the three testdays and eventually took his decision to sign with Koiranen GP.
Santiago Urrutua commented: “I am so proud to be part of this fantastic team! They have had a really good career so I’m looking forward to working with them and learning as much as possible.”
Afa Heikkinen – Koiranen GP Team Manager said: “Santiago is a talented rookie and after the tests we did in Abu Dhabi, I am confident he will be improving quickly. This year will be a learning one and we will go step by step with a common goal we will define together. We will do our best to help him to reach our target.”
Rookie Santiago Urrutia will be part of the official testdays is Estoril next week, March 27th and 28th.
