After twelve years spent with the same livery, Toro Rosso unveiled a new livery inspired by their new sponsor for the STR12.

It’s at 18:00 today that Toro Rosso unveiled their 2017 car in the pitlane of the circuit of Barcelona with the two official drivers, Daniil Kvyat and Carlos Sainz Jr who both start their third season with STR.

The Italian team already announced a change in their historic livery and they got a three-coloured livery. The main colour is metallic blue with vivid red and silver which gives its colours to the bulls on the engines covers and the nose of the car. The livery corresponds to the colours of Simply Cola by Red Bull which promotes itself on Red Bull’s little sister.

On a technical point of view, Toro Rosso also chose a hollow shark fin but it is rather short compared to what we have seen on other cars so far. The nose is rather simple reminding one of Lotus in 2015, and it carries its front wing rather forward on the car.

Carlos Sainz will test the STR12 first tomorrow alongside Vettel, Perez, Massa, Alonso, Bottas (in the morning), Ricciardo, Hulkenberg and Ericsson in the circuit of Barcelona.
