The Slovakian rider won today his very first stage in the Dakar Rally followed by Benavides and Toby Price, who continues on top with an advantage of 23 minutes.


The 10th stage of the 2016 Dakar Rally was one of the hardest of this edition with a lot of navigation on it. The riders started in Belen, and after a special stage of 278km (Shorted to 244 because of the rains) they arrived in La Rioja.

Stefan Svitko was the man of the day with an extraordinary navigation. The Slovakian rider was 2m54s faster than Honda rider Kevin Benavides and nearly 6 minutes faster than Price, who continues leading with 23 minutes of advantage.

After yesterday mechanical issues, Gonçalves lost a lot of time, but today he did a great stage and he keeps the third place with more than half an hour of disadvantage with Price.

The 11th stage of the 2016 edition of the Dakar Rally will be tomorrow between La Rioja and San Juan.
