S103 LMP2 car completes 4000km comprehensive test at Aragón in Spain
Strakka Racing’s preparation ahead of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship continued at Motorland Aragón, when the team completed a faultless test of the Strakka DOME S103 LMP2 car, racking up over 4000km of running. The test saw all three drivers get to experience the car in both day and night conditions in the multi-day test. Further running was precluded by snow but the team was able to try a number of new parts and work through a comprehensive aero test plan for both high and low downforce configurations.
“It was great to be back out again early in the New Year,” says Strakka Racing’s Nick Leventis. “The car ran extremely well, and we are really happy with how it has developed in recent months. Aragón is a demanding circuit, perfect for learning your way around a new car. We are now really looking forward to showing it off in front of our home fans at Silverstone in just a couple of months.”
Aragón, a 3.3 mile long Hermann Tilke designed circuit located in the East of Spain, is a technical circuit and well known to the Strakka Team as a test venue for its World Series squad. “The mix of fast-flowing sections, a lengthy back straight and tight corners offer a good test venue for us to continue the development of the S103 ahead of the 2015 LMP2 World Championship,” adds sportscar team manager Karl Patman. “We covered a lot of ground and we can now look forward to our next outing at the Prologue.”
Strakka Racing will debut the S103 chassis at the first FIA World Endurance Championship round at Silverstone on the 10th, 11th and 12th of April this year.
