The Rapax driver, Sergey Sirotkin, got his first GP2 victory in Silverstone. Rossi was 2nd and Vandoorne 3rd.

Stanaway was 3rd on the grid, but a fantastic start put him up on the lead, followed by Sirotkin and Matsushita. The Safety Car had to go on track after an accident between Berthon and Markelov on the first lap.

After the Safety Car left, both Sirotkin and Matsushita overtook Stanaway. The Japanese driver would have to retire a few laps later with mechanical problems.

Sirotkin was the fastest driver on track and continued to distance himself from Stanaway. Meanwhile, Rossi tried to overtake Vandoorne for 3rd, but he couldn’t make it, not even with DRS.

Halfway through the race, Sirotkin was on the lead, followed by Stanaway, Vandoorne, Rossi, Gasly and Pic.

Rossi finally managed to overtake Vandoorne on lap 16, and not much later than that he also got rid of Stanaway for 2nd.

In the pit stops, Gasly came out wheel-to-wheel with Vandoorne, but finally the Belgian got the position. They had to overtake Yelloly and King, who were using the hard compound. Yelloly made it easy, but King didn’t. Vandoorne got rid of him too, but Gasly lost a lot of time which allowed his teammate Lynn to get very close to him.

Pic hit King’s car on the last turn, which left King out of the race.

Finally, Sirotkin won followed by Rossi, Vandoorne, Gasly and Lynn.
