Simone de Silvestro, 25 -year-old Swiss female driver, became to Sauber program to train young pilots. Simone last four seasons spent in IndyCar series, becoming the owner of the prestigious “Rookie of the Year” in the Indy 500 in 2010. She also became the first female driver on the podium IndyCar race, held on the city roads.

Sauber team set the task to Simone received super license and prepared for performances in Formula 1 in 2015. The training program de Silvestro includes participation in the tests, work on the simulator, physical and psychological training.

Monisha Kaltenborn, Team Principal: “After four years in IndyCar, Simone aims to move to Formula 1 in 2015. We appreciate her as a very talented female driver and therefore decided to take the team as “affiliated driver” and support her way to the top of motorsport.”

Sauber already have two Sauber reserve pilot: Giedo van der Garde and Sergey Sirotkin. Interesting, they both declared their intention to obtain a place in the team prize pilot in 2015.
