Sam Bird, RUSSIAN TIME driver, won the GP2 sprint at the Bahrain International Circuit only 0.080 ahead of Felipe Nasr.

Tom Dillmann started from pole, but after the first lap Bird, his teammate, was already in front of the race. Although he has tried to recover the position eventually lost out and Coletti and Nasr were able to overtake him.
Since then, the race was leveled enough until the lap 10. The degradation began to say hello some drivers were forming groups fighting for position.
The Catalan Sergio Canamasas, the only Spanish driver currently competing in GP2 has been battling throughout the race with Simon Trummer, who has not made things any easier. He had managed to stand 14th in the start after being 20º in the grid, and has managed to reach 11th position after making some good overtaking in the last part of the race.
There has been another interesting battle between Quaife Hobbs, Leimer, Palmer, Calado and Abt, positioned from 5th to the 9th position in mid-race respectively. At the end we have seen how important it is to look after the tyres, as Leimer and Quaife-Hobbs lost ground without doing much to defend. It was Calado who has taken the upper hand after made a superb overtaking at the end.
Meanwhile, Coletti and Nasr were approaching a Bird who had abused his tyres with a pair of braking passes in the end of the straight. Coletti made a mistake that has left Nasr alone in the fight for victory. The Brazilian has been close, but Bird has defended his position very well in the last turn and won the race by a few centimeters apart.
