Carlos Sainz Jr won the pole in the first race of the new season a top class World Series by Renault at Monza.

The Spaniard took the lead from the start of the session and added successively as head of protocol with time 1.33,235. Nearest rival Red Bull protégé proved Will Buller – British lost to Sainz 0.124 seconds.

 

19-year-old rookie Formula Renault 3.5 Luca Gotti showed a very strong third result, more than two-tenths of a second behind the leader. Closed the the top five, Will Stevens and driver of russian tem Zeta Corse Roberto Meri.
