Nico Rosberg has won the Grand Prix of Spain in Barcelona’s Circuit of Catalunya. Lewis Hamilton was second after winning the second place to Sebastian Vettel, who finished third.

Uncomplicated and with a solid driving, Nico Rosberg has won. He has won passing his hand over the face of his teammate, who has settled for second place after being most of the race in third place. Vettel, despite the improvements installed in his car, has come to forty-five seconds of his compatriot from Mercedes.

Apart from the domain of the Mercedes there have been more surprises in the race, which draws a new landscape of differences between cars. A hard, very demeaning race and few movements on track, as a typical race in the Catalan track.

The start was moved, highlighting a bad start for Lewis Hamilton and also for Red Bull, which fell far below. Vettel started in the second position that would maintain until the third stint. Max Verstappen would stole the position to his teammate Carlos Sainz, who in a few laps and stood outside the points even after departing from fifth on the grid. The same underperforming would be later experienced by the Dutch.

On lap 12 came the first stops to get rid of the tyres meaning that most participants were done. The first to stop was Lewis Hamilton, with a good stop again staying away from second place. In the next lap Vettel and Rosberg would do the same, leaving Raikkonen in the provisional lead.

Lotus then enjoyed in a good way surpassing Toro Rosso. In a small scuffle between teammates, Maldonado lost a piece of his rear wing and on his stop the mechanics tore a piece support. Later, in the middle of the race, the Venezuelan would have to abandon. His teammate would hold the position even having to lift off each gear change to avoid damaging the motor; mostly due to gearbox problems.

The RedBull reborn and climbed positions, especially to their subsidiaries. In front, Hamilton was unable to catch Vettel while both already lapped the McLarens. The drivers of the British team were outweighed by Maldonado after their problems. The brake problems were evident for Alonso when he went to boxes and the Spanish, resigned, was forced to retire in front of his fans.

The second stint was released by Hamilton on lap 33, when he wore hard tyres. Going ahead of Raikkonen he would soon pass a lap to accelerate in the hunt for second place. Later Vettel stopped on lap 41 and Rosberg and Raikkonen on 43. The Mercedes came ahead of his teammate by little, without being forward.

Even the previous good pace, Vettel was unable to maintain the distance to the front and on his stop on lap 51, Hamilton went ahead. Although the British tried to get into the fight for the victory, the Grand Prix was sentenced and Rosberg walked towards a victory already assured.

Behind Raikkonen approached Bottas for fourth, not being able to overtake him. Who did overtake was Sainz, ahead, taking tenth place to his teammate and suffering a touch with Kvyat in a fight for winning ninth place on the last lap. Although the incident will be investigated it appears that the boy from Madrid will not lose his place.

Closing with this new panorama arrival in Europe, fans await new developments arriving to the teams approaching each other, thus encouraging the championships. McLaren also speak of developments in the next Grand Prix, the most glamorous; the historic race in Monaco, two weeks from here.
