Daniel Ricciardo has a positive feeling with yesterday third pre-season test day at circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya, after 70 laps and 3rd position of the day.

The Australian reports that yesterday was a key day, and also talks about the feeling with the car:

“Yesterday was better, we got a few more laps but i think today I learned more with the car, with the tyres, it was more productive. I leave today happy knowing a more about these new cars. Next week will be important with two more days for me so it’s pretty positive now at day three.”

“I am a real warrior of life! They are a bit tough but it’s more fun, turn 3 turn 9 turns out pretty cool. When we’ll reach 50-60 laps in hot races, you’re going to see some good push for the drivers.”

He also said that they are looking for relativity this week:

“I think for now we haven’t really got too involved in the performance runs. We tried to get some laps, consistent laps to make sure nothing is getting too hard or if there is any problem. The alp times for now are not too representative but I think we can expect Mercedes and Ferrari to be at the front but I think we can be very close as well.”

“We had just an exhaust problem so we had to take it apart and check if everything was ok. It took some time and obviously with Max running tomorrow. We don’t have all the parts here. We lost a bit of time there but before that we had a pretty good run and a longish run, almost 20 laps so that was important for us to see the set of tyres as well. I mean it’s still a Pirelli but being a wider tyre it does behaviour differently so we understood how it works a bit better today so I think it’s important for us.”

He also spoke good words about Power unit and the Aerodynamic changes of this year:

“We’re pretty happy at the moment. We know there is a bit more to come but hopefully next week we can push it a bit more. I think by the end of next week every one can see what they have got so I am confident we can get a bit closer than we were last year. I think today has been rather positive.”

“Speak to Adrian but I think we still have a few things. There is the track but there are others in the factory. I am sure you can see some bit of aerodynamic changes next week and see if they work or not.”
