Local driver Daniel Ricciardo, who scored the best result of his career during the Australian GP today, was excluded from the race for exceeding the fuel flow.

The FIA revealed 30 minutes ago that Ricciardo’s car exceeded the fuel flow limit of 100kg/h during the race, which is an infraction of the regulations.

Immediately, Red Bull announced that they will appeal the disqualification.

Thus, Magnussen is promoted to the second place and his teammate Jenson Button is now third, which means the podium is 100% Mercedes. They are followed by Alonso, Bottas, Hulkenberg, Raikkonen, Vergne, Kvyat and Perez, with the latter scoring points in the end.

Nevertheless, the first corner incident involving Felipe Massa and Kamui Kobayashi was investigated too. The Japanese driver won’t have a penalty because the accident was caused by “a big technical failure”. According to Joe Bauer, it was a brake failure. Kobayashi apologized for the incident.
