Racing Point is set for another aero upgrade which they believe will bring more performance in this weekend’s F1 Singapore GP.

Following a slow start to its 2019 F1 season, Racing Point picked up pace since the summer break in Belgium and Italy, with solid points finish. The upgrades they had worked well in the midfield battle.

As the F1 circus now moves to the flyaway races to culminate the season, the team is set for another aero upgrade this weekend in Singapore GP, which they believe will bring more performance.

The are seventh in the standings with 46 points but have a good chance to be fifth at least if not fourth as McLaren has 83 points, followed by Renault with 65 and Toro Rosso with 51 ahead of them.

For them to topple the likes of McLaren and Renault, they need solid double points finish which they reckon is achievable with the new package. “We head to Singapore with good momentum off the back of some strong results,” said Otmar Szafnauer.

“We were unlucky in Monza not to come away with both cars in the points, but we took away a lot of positives overall. We always felt we would be much stronger after the summer break and the results in Spa and Monza are good indications of what we can expect for the upcoming events.

“There are still seven races remaining – that’s a third of the season – and plenty of opportunities to score well. The progress with the car continues and this weekend we bring further aero developments that should give us another performance step.”

Racing Point will hope that they don’t miss out on luck in order to beat their nearest rivals. For Sergio Perez, Singapore has been a good hunting ground apart from last year, while Lance Stroll will look to score substantially.
