Simo Puhakka has taken the victory in the first round of WSK Euro Series in the KZ2 class at Naples International Circuit (Sarno). The Tony Kart driver beat the Sodikarts of Bas Lammers and Anthony Abasse.

In the prefinal A, Lorenzo Camplese (Tony Kart/Vortex/Bridg) who was the best during the qualifying heats, suddenly saw how his kart got stopped in the opening lap. The Italian let Riccardo Longhi (BirelArt/TM Racing/Bridg) to take the lead of the race. Longhi easily won from team mate in Birel ART Racing, Alex Irlando (BirelArt/TM Racing/Bridg) and Bas Lammers (Sodikart/TM Racing/Bridg).

In the prefinal B, Matteo Viganò (Tony Kart/Vortex/Bridg) started leading the race but the italian was not able to keep that position all the time as he was overtaken by Anthony Abbasse (Sodikart/TM Racing/Bridg).

Abbasse was the pole sitter but a bad start dropped him to the third place. Despite that, the Frenchman overtook Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart/Vortex/Bridg) and Matteo Viganò in only two laps of time.

In the final, Simo Puhakka (Tony Kart/Vortex/Bridg) made an amazing start from fourth position taking the lead of the race. The Finn was leading in front of Longhi, Abbasse, Lammers and Ardigò.

Puhakka managed to build a gap of almost a second from Abbasse who took the second position on lap 2.

Meanwhile Bas Lammers started his comeback from fourth position. He first overtook Ardigò on lap3, then he did the same on Abbasse on lap 8.

The Dutch driver then tried to catch Puhakka for the race win, but he did not have enough time to do so. Puhakka managed to cross the line just 0.051 seconds in front of Lammers. Abbasse completed the podium after holding off Ardigò.

In the championship standings, Simo Puhakka leaves Sarno as the championship leader with 70 points, only 11 more than Anthony Abbasse. Ricardo Longhi is third with 22 points less than the Tony Kart driver.

The next round of WSK Euro Series will be held at the French circuit of ASK Angerville from 25th to 28th of April.
