Andrea Pizzitola has transformed his pole position into victory in the second race of the Grand Prix of Aragón. The first four grid positions remained unchanged: was followed by Jörg, Bonifacio and De Vries.

Today was the day of Manor’s French driver. Andrea Pizzitola achieved a decisive victory after his pole position this morning. As yesterday he started in last position and had to retire, today he has done exactly the opposite.

The first two positions, despite at some point it may have seemed, have not been disputed and remained as they were in the grid for the whole race. On the other hand, Bonifacio and De Vries swapped places even twice during the first laps but finally Bonifacio took the third position.

The battle of the race has been for fifth place, starred by Albon and Orudzhev. With ten minutes left of the race, Orudzhev overtook Albon with a great move, but then Albon gave a touch to the Tech 1 Racing, causing a puncture in his right rear wheel that forced him into the pit and finished fifteenth . Albon, broke his front wing and kept losing positions after defending with (maybe too much) aggressiveness and finished ninth. Albon is under investigation.

The poor adherence provoked drivers running wide continuously. That led to numerous incidents and many drivers were able to taste good positions to detriment of others.

The Formula Renault 2.0 Grand Prix of Aragón, the first of the European season, settled with victories of Nyck De Vries, first in the championship, and Andrea Pizzitola. The next meeting will be at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, on May 31 and June 1.
